The Aquascape Environmental team participated in an extraordinary project giving back to the underprivileged children in Romania. We collected sports balls that were left behind in lakes and ponds from our maintenance operations and shipped them to the under-served youth of Romania through the religious/charitable organization, Our Life Mission. Our Life Mission focuses on the Roma people of Romania. Also known as gypsies, these people are considered minorities of the countries they call home and therefore struggle to get by with daily life.
Based in Viile Tecii, Romania, Our Life Mission meets physical and spiritual needs through outreach and training locals as ministers to plant new churches. They also founded and operate The House of Hope, a place for orphans and homeless children in need of a stable and loving home. The balls and frisbees that were received by Our Life Mission were distributed to children in the community and at The House of Hope. A simple gift of a used ball pulled from a lake in Georgia brought much joy to children on the other side of the world. Aquascape Environmental technicians retrieve all types of balls and other sports equipment from clients’ lakes and ponds in the course of routine maintenance. Items that are in usable condition are stored for donation to youth programs rather than being discarded to take up space in landfills. Over the past 30 years, the company has donated thousands of items to various programs.
